What does non-comedogenic mean?
Non-comedogenic means that ingredients found in our products will not clog pores. We ensure this is true by strictly testing products and by using oils that are high in linoleic acid and low in oleic acid.
I have heard that jojoba oil can clog pores? Is this true and if so, why is it found in your products?
Jojoba oil does not clog pores, but some people may see some purging when they begin to use it. Jojoba oil is actually not an oil at all. It is a wax ester that mimics the natural sebum found on the skin which is often overproduced in those with acne. This has proven to be beneficial in patients with acne-prone skin, as jojoba oil in a sense “tricks” skin into thinking that it does not need to produce extra sebum.
